Another long day (or maybe longer)
I will leave the other entry unfinished since I really got lost where to go next. But to somehow connect things I'll try to explain some.
Last week I was able to enlist myself as a volunteer fire fighter, my first exerprience of a fire emergency happened last Sunday. I was jogging with my shoti in Tutuban while hoping to make enough pull ups and push ups as a preparation for the training, I heard the siren of Tutuban as it rushed out of the mall compound. Sensing the the fire is just within the vicinity, I asked my little brother that we go home and that I might respond to the emergency call. So, I hand him my badminton racket then sprint my way to the headquarters which is just less than a half kilometer. When I reached the HQ, they already left so all I could do is follow them to the fire scene. I did not mind not wearing at least fire boots or fire pants since my job will be watching over the water level of the tanker. I reached the fire scence in less than five minutes. At first I was hesitant to climb the truck because I am not sure if I should be there but before I could rationalize things up another fire fighter asked me to climb up and watch for the water level. I feel so great and sort of boastful being up there (as I glance around looking for friends who are also fire fighters from different groups). On the fire scene I spotted Halcon. He is one of our OIC, I never met him since I enlisted myself. I felt proud when he saw me. It's like "hey, we're in the same group again"! For other details about Halcon will be on another entry. And so fire is controlled and eventually died out. Other groups started to leave the scene while we stay to supply the goverment fire fighters with water. After that we washed refilled our tank and washed our hoses and readied them for the next call. The rest of the day went well with a little high from the 1070 experience.
Let the Light Shine
There are no classes yesterday so I decided to go about my resume dropping. There are three schools on my mind and I wish I could at least drop my resume. I started late morning because of being tired the day before. I first went to a Dominican school along A. Lacson but they've just had their Foundation Day and its a school holiday for them. Next is La Salle Green Hills, they also have no classes no office to transact with they also got a fair during the weekend. The one that I'm expecting to be closed is the one open, I thought they'll have no classes because of the Chinese New Year. I started to anticipate going to the malls after dropping my resume but after handing my resume I was asked to fill up a form, to wait and then to fill up another form. While filling up the second form, a 5th grade class passed by the corridor to observe some plants by. One of the students recognized me and called his classmate pointing to my seat saying "si teacher oh". I do not know him but maybe he is a transferee from our client school who frequently visits the K-Act. After another set of waiting, I got my interview then another set of waiting lead me to an examination. Whoa! I thought this would be simple, but anyway I am happy that I have started my hunt and I hope that by next school year I'll start living a dream.
Down! Give me twenty, no make it twenty-five!
Coupling, gasket, nozzle, warp, wept, single roll, double donut, twin double donut, hose throw, double jacket, piton, and abaca fiber are the new entries on my active vocabulary. An informal drill was conducted last night by SFO2 Magallanes. I failled all the practical tests but of course not the theoretical one (",). I'm still far from learning the fire fighter stuff but I am eager that I could complete them on time. Ako pa! APhiO nga kinaya ko eh!
