same old-same old

I spent more than an hour to re-orienting myself around my files: sorting and deleting temporary files. Another thirty minutes is spent on reading and replying to e-mails and offline messages. It’s been one week since I opened my work station and it has been three days since I last opened my online accounts. The typhoon paralyzed me for a while. Last Tuesday night I am trying to have a good dialogue with a horizon pit, I was hoping that I could start having the usual chat with her with her the next day but nothing clear came out-- the nagging continues. It all ends up nowhere.

My most awaited day

Today could be my most anticipated day since the school year started. It's our recreational climb to Mt. Romelo. We planned for this to at least have a break from school hassles and I've been patiently waiting for this day for a month until last Monday when I learned that we can't pursue our plan. Most of the participants can't make it because of the rescheduling of the indoor camp of the school's Scouts. Too bad.

The sunny days I hate

It's almost a month that the rain has been showering us every evening, and it makes me weary knowing that the trails would be muddy and slippery on our climb. Today and for the past few days the sun is shining brightly on the clear skies and rain is already gone. I no longer bring an umbrella nor my sandals for school. But what I hate for the sunny days is that I can't go out to meet her. The climb I've been longing and anticipating has been postponed. I could have accepted it if a storm would stop us but there's a perfect weather outside and I'm all prepared!

Going on air

I am now convinced to purchase my antenna this afternoon. Right after my session with the Altar Servers I'll go straight to Raon and buy my CP22E. And maybe within the following week I can have it mounted on our rooftop. I am anticipating the coming activities on air I am also looking forward to setting up an Echolink station.

I finally reached home

After waiting for almost an hour for a ride, I spent another hour sitting in the middle of the traffic. I could have walk but preferred to take some naps and wish for the traffic to be better. But it didn't. I forced myself to get on my feet and trail my way home but I was surprised to see all the streets are flooded. Oh no!Soon I am zigzaging the streets of Sampaloc; starting from Welcome rotonda>España>Blumentritt>Maceda>I turned right at Kundiman wishing someone would offer me a dry place>Florentino>Miguellin>Marzan>Piy Margal>Dapitan>M. Dela Fuente>I have crisscrossed and got stock on these streets all at the same time to keep my feet dry. How I wish I took a different route from Cubao, how I wish I could have visited the Chapter, at least I have someone to go home with and something else to do instead of racing with the other adventure seekers in the flood. After almost three hours of contemplating and enjoying the rain, the flood and the adventure, I got lucky enough to convince a pedicab driver to take me as far as he can where there's no more flood. I was able to reach Laong Laan. Whoa! That's just one block away. But anyway there's a very heavy traffic there and everyone is walking to and from all directions. This time the he's (the driver) the one who convinced me: "hanggang dito na lang po, wala na pong baha sa banda dun". Are you sure? Hehehe... As I got my feet on the sidewalk I could smell another set of adventure. I thanked manong for doing me the favor and started with my walk. The feel of the cold air rushing makes me go back to my pledgeship: I often spend late nights out during that time. Then after another set of weird and rude thoughts that came running through my mind, I finally reached Lacson. I cheered as I see the streets instead of flood, I started to run and wish to be home in a couple of minutes. I sent an SMS home: 10 minutes. And I did it fifteen minutes before midnight I finally reached home.
