I should be working

I've been busy since I got back here in Manila: pending reports on evaluation, summaries and training monitoring and observations. Not counting the other tasks that surprises my system every now and then.

I am here at the headquarters for my weekly duty schedule. I brought along my ThinkPad and all so that I could work with my pending tasks while waiting for an alarm. I should be working on the presentation for the consulting conference tomorrow, when a I got a great kind of surprise: my ThinkPad detected a hot spot. And instead of working on my take-home task which I assigned myself, I busied myself surfing the net reading about something new and sending messages to old friends and establishing common grounds with the new one. I am starting to feel sleepy and I guess I'll just do my take-home work tomorrow as I prepare for the office.

Let's start with the bad one:
G8 set for showdown with poorer states over climate

By Yoko Kubota and Oleg Shchedrov Tue Jul 8, 11:45 AM ET

TOYAKO, Japan (Reuters) - Big emerging economies will come under pressure on Wednesday to respond in kind to an initiative by rich countries to work towards a target of at least halving their global greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. For the full story click here.

Sana lang abutan pa ng G8 ang 2050

Then the funny one:

She walks in beauty

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent.
